COMMUNITIES AND CONFLICT - Salford and Nablus

This website is intended as a showcase and a celebration of international links between schools in Palestine and the UK, specifically Nablus and Salford. The links came about with the aid and encouragment of the British Council and teachers and pupils from both cities have worked enthusiastically to maintain the contact. In March 2005 a delegation of Palestinian teachers, which included the Director of Education in Nablus, visited Salford and a reciprocal visit by Salford educators, this too funded by the British Council, took place in November 2005.

These contacts resulted in the initiation of a three year project, entitled 'Communities & Conflict', in which Salford and Nablus pupils will explore conflict and conflict resolution within the home, the local community and the world.

The schools taking part are:
Al Ayshia School
King Talal Boys' School
Kamal Junblat Girls' School
Abdel Hmeed Sayeh Boys' School
Buile Hill High School
Hope High School
